This week on Behind the Scenes we're talking to Megan, an onboarding associate here at Florence. Megan has previously worked in staffing solutions back in the USA, so moving to Florence was a no brainer!
Who are you and what do you do at Florence?
My name is Megan Roberts and I’m an Onboarding Associate at Florence. As soon as someone joins our platform I’ll reach out and guide them through the application process and then through the compliance check at the end of their application.
What made you want to join Florence?
Back home in the States I have years of experience in staffing and onboarding in HR functions, so when I saw the job posting for Florence it was nearly identical to what I’d done before so I thought it would be a great fit, and so far it has been!
What’s your favourite thing about working at Florence?
To be completely honest, it’s the community aspect.
I mean coming in and working a nine to five job and going home is one thing, but being able to come in and have a cup of coffee with a coworker and talk about what we did last night or just talk about a movie I saw at the weekend is great.
Especially being someone brand new to the UK and not having many friends or family here other than my fiance, that is an amazing thing to have.
The support from everyone has been great.
What’s the biggest challenge Florence is facing at the moment?
From my perspective I would say some changes made to changes our registration process recently have been a little bit challenging, but it’s nothing that you can’t adapt to!
With any startup things change constantly, it’s all about being adaptable and putting your best foot forward.
What’s a fun fact about you that might surprise us?
When I’m home, I go boating every weekend! I got my boating licence when I was 16 years old.
What piece of advice would you give to someone thinking about joining Florence?
Do it!
It’s a great community, it’s a great company to work for; even if you’re changing industries or what you want to do.
There’s a tonne of people in our office who have come here from something different and have really excelled.
You won’t regret it!
Where do you see Florence in five years?
I definitely see Florence growing exponentially. I mean just from the time I’ve been here it seems like things are just growing rapidly and I’m excited for the ride!
